The Burchmore’s moved to Telluride in 1997 after spending 10 years in Aspen, CO. John is originally from Lake Forest, IL and Jill grew up in Aspen, CO. John’s preference of Telluride compared to other mountain resorts relates to its remote location and staggering beauty. “The impression of driving down Main Street with the towering peaks and authentic western charm, was a defining moment for our family.”
With a background of sales, marketing and development, John’s background is diverse. After graduating from Ripon College in WI, with a degree in Economics, John went to work with a leading commercial Real Estate Firm in Chicago, Fuller Commercial Brokerage. From there he moved to Leelanau County, MI to the first of many resort destinations, working for DSI Resort Properties of Traverse City. In Aspen, John was involved with the World Cup Ski Races and was Business Development Manager for the Snowmass Resort Association.
John’s experience in Telluride and Mountain Village is extensive, particularly in Mountain Village. John has served on the Mountain Village Town Council, was President of the Telluride Convention and Visitor Bureau, Directed the Marketing committee for Telluride and Mountain Village and has served on the Mountain Village Design Review Board. John is active with local non-profits working as board member on the Telluride Society for Jazz and having served on Telluride Council for the Arts and Humanities. John has traveled extensively having climbed and skiied two of the 7 Summits, Mt. Aconcagua in Argentina and Mt. Elbrus in Russia. His passions for the outdoors in and around Telluride include fly fishing, hiking, biking and exploring.
Jill is a running coach in Telluride and also does consulting with local businesses . Jill does take advantage of this beautiful landscape and enjoys running, biking, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and, of course, hitting the slopes with the family. 
Jake (18) and Leland (16) have enjoyed growing up in the Public School District in Telluride, have skied competitively with the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club, love soccer and the outdoors.
